The Volvo Ocean Race Village in the port of Alicante will open its doors today and can be visited by everyone during 23 days.
The Village in the port of Alicante will open its doors today at 7:30 p.m. and presents a programm of leisure activities. The opening ceremony includes the presence of the companies Malabars and Des Quidams, with a fireworks show as finishing highlight, a big party to welcome the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009.
 There will be free admission to the Race Village as well as for the participation in all activities scheduled for this year’s Volvo Ocean Race for all age groups, except for the concerts of Bryan Adams (October 4th) and UB40 (October 10th).
The Village will be open from 10 a.m. until midnight from Sunday until Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Sundays. The opening period will be from 19-09-08 until 11-10-08.
Attractions such as: sea baptism, air turns, wind tunnel, water scooter simulators, movies, interactive museum of the Volvo Ocean Race, activities for children, dancing workshops, Moors and Christians parade, monologues, night shows, magic, massage, nautical knots workshop, concerts, etc.
