Once again comes the Beer Festival in Calpe, everything is ready for the Oktoberfest Calpe 2008.

The Oktoberfest, October festival, is a typical festival of the Bavarian city of Munich (Germany). This festivity has been included in the festival calendar of each town by the German colonies in other parts of the world, such as in Calpe, Alicante, in order to celebrate their German origin and culture.

Each year Calpe celebrates the Oktoberfest and this is known as the Beer Festival. In this town, the beer festival is organized by the Club Carnaval Calpe and this year will be the 21st Beer Festival. This celebration is being held since 1988 and its main features are the German beer, folklore and gastronomy.

This year it will be celebrated from October 2nd until 12th, on the plot behind the Tennis club, where a spectacular big top that will be open from 6 p.m. every day, except on the days when there is a morning event. A comprehensive program of events to delight all visitors of the Oktoberfest Calpe 2008:

The festival starts on 02/10/08 with the opening of the first barrel of the genuine Bavarian beer “Paulaner” by Calpe’s Mayor Luis Serna. Andy and the band Steinsberger Musikanten will entertain everyone.
On 03/10/08 the typical German beer, the folklore, the sausages, the salads, will play the leading part of the evening, with the music of Andy and the Steinsberger Musikanten.
04/10/08 show time with music of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and of course German beer and food.
05/10/08, food, beer and live music by the “Calpe Rock Band”, the “2nd Competition of Olive Pit Spitting of Calpe”, “Paella Competition” and of course music played by the Steinsbergermusikanten.
06/10/08, music, beer, food and tombola.
07/10/08, music, beer, food and tombola.
08/10/08, music, beer, food, beer glass lifting competition and Big Tombola.
09/10/08, in the morning live jazz and in the evening music by the Steinsbergmusikanten with the best German songs of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
10/10/08 beer, foor, the Steinsbergmusikanten and at midnight show time with Jean Pierre.
11/10/08 more beer, more foor, more music, shows and the Tombola to conclude the Oktoberfest.
12/10/08 “Bike-Day”, motorbike day with concerts, ride through Calpe and big motorbike exhibition.
